Welcome to "Getting in the Baseball Zone"
The primary reason for this blog is for members of the SGV Arsenal Baseball Program to have a forum to ask "the coach" questions away from the field. All of our players are high school age and during certain times of the year are away from the program participating in their high school seasons. Additionally, we will have a seperate blog as a forum to discuss the Mental Game of Baseball, both following the HA Dorfman text as well as our own personal insights and thoughts. "Getting in the Baseball Zone" is a combination of things from physically preparing yourself in the basic tools of the game, but also intense mental preperation for competition. Players often remark that while things are going well, they felt like they were " in a Zone" or not really part of what is going on, but merely just going along for a ride. A key component of this is preparing to "let yourself go" and trust in your ability to perform. Much of this rests not just in the physical skills but also the Mental Skills associated with the game.
This forum is obviously open to outside individuals who wish to contribute and participate along the way. So enjoy the ride, open your mind and prepare to help yourself get "into the Zone".
